A new teaser post has been released for fans of the Sonic film series. He confirms it Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is still in the works and the release date is expected in about a year. The post also teases the introduction of the character Shadow, who we first saw at the end Sonic 2.
Shadow is a dark version of Sonic created as the “Ultimate Life Form” by Dr. Robotnik using Black Doom’s DNA and is the end result of Project Shadow. According to tradition, his purpose was to provide ways to develop a cure for incurable deadly diseases, more specifically for Gerald’s granddaughter, Maria Robotnik. It was also used as a weapon designed to conquer the world. We’ll just have to wait and see what parts of his story they use in this movie.
Jeff Fowler he will return to direct for the third film, with Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey voicing Miles “Tails” Prower, Idris Elba like Knuckles the Echidna, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, and Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, all set to reprise their respective roles from the first two films.
Jim CarreyRobotnik’s future as Dr. Robotnik is currently unclear as the sequel has left his fate somewhat open, as the actor has previously spoken about his retirement. We’ll have to wait and see what happens with that.
