Saturday Night Live Alum Aidy Bryant will host the 2024 Film Independent Spirit Awards, organizers announced Thursday. The ceremony on February 25 will be streamed on YouTube for the second consecutive year.
Nominations for the 39th Spirits, which honors the best in independent film and television, will be announced on December 5.
Recent hosts have included Megan Mullaly and Nick Offerman, Melissa Villaseñor, Aubrey Plaza and last year’s host Hasan Minhaj. He presided over a ceremony that culminated in the awarding of the Oscar for Best Picture Everything everywhere at the same time won its seventh trophy of the night for Best Picture.
The Spirts, Film Independent’s flagship fundraiser, will announce winners in 20 film and TV categories and will also use this year’s ceremony to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the nonprofit’s artist development program.
The show, which will stream live on both Film Independent’s YouTube channels and IMDb’s YouTube channels, among other social media platforms, is once again produced by Eddie Delbridge of Live Digital Entertainment and executive produced by Spirits. Veteran Shawn Davis. Producers Danielle Federico and Andrew Schaff also return.
