Charlie Cox says he thought Vincent D’Onofrio was delusional when Kingpin actor thought DAREDEVIL would return

Reckless it’s almost back on our televisions! The Netflix series was one of the best Marvel shows ever made and will return under Marvel’s watch on Disney+. Some thought that day would never come, including the star of the show Charlie Cox, who plays lawyer Matt Murdock by day and masked vigilante by night. He had good reason to believe it was over for good after the cancellation, but his co-star, Vincenzo D’Onofriowho plays the evil Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin, has never stopped believing in it.

Cox recalled during a panel at Wales Comic Con:

“I really thought that ship had sailed, you know? I thought it was over. It had been a couple of years since then [Daredevil was cancelled]. What I didn’t know was that there was an embargo on this. So, there was a certain period of time – I think it was probably two years – after the show was canceled before Disney and Marvel could approach us. So, at that time, I didn’t know. I just thought it was over. And Vincent, who plays Wilson Fisk, he and I chatted on the phone from time to time. And he kind of said, “I’m sure they’ll take us back.” I was on the phone saying, ‘Man, that guy is delusional! He has to let it go.'”

It’s really nice that D’Onofrio never lost faith. I’m happy to see that his prediction has come true, and we are succeeding Reckless again in the form of Daredevil: Born Again. Cox and D’Onofrio will be joined by other cast members Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, and Sandrine Holt as Vanessa Fisk. It’s also in the cast Michele GandolfiniMargarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan and Clark Johnson in undeclared roles.
