A few weeks ago we learned that Lionsgate is moving forward Now you see me 3what he will see Jesse Eisenberg, Woody HarrelsonAND Morgan Freeman, they reprise their roles from the first two films. I was actually curious if Eisenberg was eager to return to this franchise after having already made two films, and it turns out he loves this franchise and is eager to make it happen.
Speaking with Collider during an interview, the Oscar-nominated actor explained why he loves acting in these films and playing Daniel Atlas so much, saying:
“That’s why I love them so much, and I’m so desperate to do a third. It’s like the only time I’ve been able to lower my antidepressant dose because I feel so comfortable and comfortable with myself as an actor because the character is. So in a way, the way I would describe method acting would be almost the opposite, which is that the character makes you feel something about yourself.
“I’ve found that I don’t like to actively pursue what you would call ‘method acting,’ which is where you treat circumstances almost as reality. I’ve found that not many actors do this or some do it performatively, but in a way that doesn’t exactly feel real. For me, making those films, Now You See Me more than anything is the most I feel like I’m a character, because my work is a real artist and the character is an artist.
This is definitely an interesting and unexpected reason to be excited to come back and play this character, but I love it! As ridiculous and silly as this wizard heist franchise is, I actually like the movies. It’s just great fun on the go!
Poison director Ruben Fleischer is put at the helm Now you see me 3 segrom a screenplay written by Assassin’s Creed‘S Michael Lesslie, who is working on a new draft of the screenplay. Previous drafts of the screenplay were written by Seth Grahame-Smith (Pride and Prejudice and Zombies) AND Eric Warren Singer (Top Gun: Maverick, American Hustle). Alex Kurtzmann AND Bobby Cohen they will act as producers.
When the project was initially announced, it was said that the story would feature “the thieving illusionists known as the Four Horsemen” and would also introduce “audiences to a new generation of characters.”
The director previously said: “There are three things in this world that I absolutely love… Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson and magic. Having the chance to work with these two talented actors, as well as the rest of the incredible cast of the Now You See Me films, is a dream come true. I’ve always been a fan of heist films: I love getting involved in the twists and the mystery where nothing is what it seems. And this is even more true when the thieves are magicians: the opportunities are endless. Eric was able to unlock a new and exciting way to get into a new movie and fun new characters, so I’m excited to delve into it even more.
