Netflix continues to release great international content and recently shared a trailer for its upcoming Korean mystery thriller series, Creature GyeongSeong. The series, which will premiere in two parts starting in late December, promises to take viewers on a captivating journey through the historic and mysterious landscape of Gyeongseong (old Seoul) in 1945.
The teaser offers a tantalizing glimpse of the story, set against the backdrop of Seoul’s grim era under colonial rule, which follows an entrepreneur and an investigator who “struggle for survival and face a monster born of human greed. Park Seo-jun plays Jang Tae-sang, the owner of the Golden Treasure House pawnshop – the richest and most connected person in Gyeongseong – and Han So-hee takes on the role of Yoon Chae-ok, a investigator with a reputation for the impossible. Together, they enter the mysterious and tumultuous world of 1945.”
It’s also in the cast Han So-ih, Claudia Kimknown for her role in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwaldnext to Kim Hae-sook, Cho Han-cheulAND Wi Ha-jun from the critically acclaimed Squid game.
Directed by Korean director Chung Dong-yoonknown for his work on Hot stove alloy series and scripted by Kang Eun-kyungthe creative mind behind it Doctor Romantic AND What happens to my family?, Creature GyeongSeong promises a perfect blend of suspense, mystery and historical intrigue.
Creature GyeongSeong Part 1 will stream on Netflix on December 22, 2023, followed by the release of Part 2 on January 5, 2024.
