Jamie Foxx is being sued over alleged sexual abuse dating back to 2015.
The 55-year-old Oscar winner (real name Eric Marlon Bishop) was accused of placing his hands on an unidentified woman’s waist and then pushing them under her top. He then allegedly began rubbing the plaintiff’s breasts and dragged her to a secluded area of the roof of Catch NYC & Roof, where he touched other parts of her body.
The suit was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which gives sexual assault plaintiffs one year to file civil claims, regardless of the statute of limitations. That window closes Thursday and has led to a flurry of sexual assault lawsuits.

For his portrayal of Ray Charles in the film, Foxx won the Academy Award for Best Actor beamFor this he won an Oscar, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Award.
The lawsuit alleges that the incident in question began when a friend of the plaintiff asked Foxx for a photo. The lawsuit said Foxx “appeared intoxicated at the time” and that the prosecutor looked like Gabrielle Union and complimented him on his “supermodel body” and her smell.
As Foxx escalated his alleged assault, court documents say the accuser tried to flee. The alleged assault finally ended when the accused’s boyfriend rushed to her aid.
The plaintiff claims he sought medical treatment and suffered both pain and emotional distress as a result of the “assault, assault and battery.”
The lawsuit names Foxx and Catch and their employees and seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
Foxx’s representatives have not commented on the lawsuit.
