SPIDER-MAN 4 will pave the way for a potential merger between Sony’s Spider-Man universe and the MCU

An interesting new report has emerged regarding Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios Spider-Man 4. The following news comes from a reliable industry insider Daniele Richtmannwho recently broke the Pedro Pasquale Fantastic Four casting news.

He’s saying it Spider-Man 4 will have a greater level of connectivity between the MCU and Sony’s Spider-Man universe, and this will pave the way for a potential merger of the two universes.

We don’t know exactly what that means. But there are two outcomes, either Tom Holland’s Peter Parker will completely enter Sony’s Spider-Man universe with Venom, Morbius, Kraven The Hunter and Madame Web. Or it will lead to Spider-Man characters being brought to Earth-616 just in time for Avengers: Secret Wars.

I would hate to see Spider-Man fully part of Sony’s Spider-Man universe because they clearly haven’t figured out how to make great live-action movies with these Spider-Man characters yet. The animated Spider-Verse movies are awesome! But, for some reason, they just can’t stick the landing for live-action films. You watch the recent trailer for Madame Webb and it’s surprising that the studio hasn’t learned anything.

That said, even if Marvel Studios is struggling at the moment, I’d still prefer Spider-Man to stay true to that universe. What do you think?

In a previous interview with Holland, he explained that he met with the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feigeproducer Amy Pascaland other executives to start figuring out what they want to do with a fourth film. She also says there’s a part of him that wants to distance herself from Spider-Man: “It was me, Amy, [Marvel Studios president] Kevin Feige, [executive producer] Rachel [O’Connor], other Marvel executives sometimes chime in. It’s a collaborative process. The first meetings were about, “Why should we do this again?” And I think we’ve found the reason why. I’m really, really happy with where we are creatively.”

He went on to explain that he’s still a little worried about it: “But I’m also a little worried about it. There’s a little bit of a stigma around the fourth across all franchises. I feel like we hit a home run with our first franchise and there’s a part of me that wants to walk away with my head held high and pass the torch to the next lucky guy who gets to bring this character to life.”

I just hope they can make another great one Spiderman movie. It won’t be easy, though, after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. We have a long time to wait Spider-Man 4 as it won’t be released in theaters until 2026.
