Lionsgate has released a trailer for its inspirational film Unsung Hero, a biopic that tells the true story of the religious band for KING & COUNTRY. I’m not familiar with this band or their story, but it sounds like the film will tell an uplifting, feel-good story.
The story is described as “extraordinary” and “follows David Smallbone as he moves his family from Australia to the United States, in search of a better future after the collapse of his successful music company. With nothing but their seven children, suitcases and their love of music, David (for KING + COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone) and his pregnant wife Helen (Daisy Betts) have decided to rebuild their lives. Helen’s faith endures against all odds and inspires her husband and her children to keep it. With their own dreams on hold, David and Helen begin to realize the musical ability of their children, who will go on to become two of the most successful artists in the history of inspirational music: five-time Grammy-winning artists for KING + COUNTRY and Rebecca St. James.”
The film was co-written and co-directed by the directors Joel Smallbone AND Richard Ramsey. He is the protagonist Daisy Betts, Joel Smallbone, Kirrilee Berger, Jonathan Jackson, Luca Nerowith Candace Cameron Bureand LOST Terry O’Quinn.
Unsung hero will be released in theaters starting April 26, 2024.
