EXCLUSIVE: Jack Kilmer (Palo Alto), Paris Jackson (Gringo) and Eric Roberts (The dark knight) is produced in Atlanta Open woundsan indie horror thriller from director Ronald Krauss (Give me shelter). Rounding out the cast of the picture is Lambert Houston (Resurrection factor), Renata Notni (Zoro), Richie Radichi (My best friend is dead) and Jay Giannone (American bustle).
Written by Ryan Leeder, Joshua Courtade and Krauss, the film centers on a faded indie horror studio, its owner Jefferson (Roberts) and his cousin Caleb (Kilmer), a young, obsessive and ambitious makeup artist for F/X horror films. finally gets his “little break” when Jefferson commissions him to work on a B-list film about a vampire (Notni). There he meets another make-up artist, Ginni (Jackson), with whom he believes he can share his vulnerabilities, as well as an unsupportive rival, Todd (Houston).
Unsure of his talent and desperate for Jefferson’s approval, Caleb struggles with the assignment until he accidentally witnesses a murder. Since realism is the missing element in his work, he draws from the impact of what he has seen. When Caleb suddenly receives Jefferson’s approval and praise on set, he begins to prepare for his impact by committing his own murders, losing his moral compass and descending into madness. As Caleb’s crimes become increasingly grotesque, his relationship with Ginny evolves into an unconventional search for love.
The picture’s producers are Krauss and Ira Houston, of Day 28 Films and Bald Eagle Entertainment. Chung Dick and Thomas Carroll are executive producers, while Haweni Keskessa and Marvin Cheng are co-producers.
He is best known for his performances in award-winning indie films Palo Alto And Lord of ChaosKilmer recently signed a deal to star opposite Bella Thorne in the fantasy drama The tower, included as part of an interim agreement. He was also the narrator of the documentary Fallwhich highlights the remarkable life and career of his father Val Kilmer.
