Sony Pictures pushed Tom Hardy’S Poison 3 to a new release date. The film was originally supposed to be released in theaters on July 12, 2024 and will now be released on November 8, 2024.
Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two Venom films, will direct this third from a script he wrote. That script was based on a story he developed with Hardy.
Hardy will return to the role of Eddie Brock, and will be joined by him Temple of Juno AND Chiwetel Ejiofor. It is said that Ejiofor will take on the role of a character named Orwell Taylor. Not much else is known about the story, but I don’t expect much after those first two films.
As for the character Orwell Taylor, he is a relatively obscure character in the Marvel Universe. He was introduced for the first time Poison: mace No. 1 in 1994. He is a former U.S. Army lieutenant colonel with a vendetta against the superhuman vigilantes he believes are responsible for his son’s death.
After his son was killed by Venom, Taylor assembled the Jury, a group of armored vigilantes designed to judge and execute vigilantes, particularly Venom, who Taylor held personally responsible for his son’s death. Despite his contradictory stance towards some of Marvel’s heroes, Taylor believes he is a force for justice, attempting to hold superpowered individuals accountable for the collateral damage they cause.
Poison 3 is produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal AND Hutch Parker.
