Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming animated series Ultraman: On the Rise, and they also announced the star-studded cast list. This animated series promises a new perspective on the iconic Japanese superhero Ultraman. Directed by Shannon Tindle AND John Aoshima, Ultraman: On the Rise comes to life from a screenplay co-written by Tindle and Marc Haimes. Tindle’s connection to the project dates back to 2001, initially imagining it as an original film inspired by the Ultraman mythos. After selling the concept in 2015, the project took an unexpected turn when Netflix entered the scene, proposing to acquire the Ultraman license. After a successful presentation to Tsuburaya, the owner of the Ultraman IP, Netflix has officially announced Ultraman: On the Rise in 2021, marking a significant chapter in the superhero’s storied legacy.
