A new trailer has been released for the modern western action film Showdown at the Grandhero Terrence Howard AND Dolph Lundgrenas well as Giovanni Selvaggio, Amanda RighettiAND Piper Curda. The film is written and directed by Orson Oblowitz (The Queen of Hollywood Boulevard, Violators).
The film’s synopsis reads:
“Proud movie theater owner George Fuller (Terrence Howard) is preparing for a retrospective with fictional action star Claude Luc Hallyday (Dolph Lundgren). But when his beloved movie theater, the Warner Grand, is suddenly attacked by axe-wielding ninjas sent by a ruthless corporate developer, the two men take the action off the screen and into the theater.
It looks like it’s definitely inspired by Quentin Tarantino’s cinematic style, but it doesn’t look nearly as good. Although I usually dismiss films starring Dolph Lundgren because he has mostly made bad action films over the years, and this one seems like a step above most of those. Hopefully it has a good story and is a fun watch for movie buffs. It looks like Howard delivers a solid performance, as usual. Check out the trailer for yourself below and let us know what you think.
Showdown at the Grand will be available to watch in select US theaters and on VOD on November 10.
