There are some big Godzilla projects on the way with Toho’s Godzilla minus oneThe Legendary series Monarch: Monster Legacyand Legendary’s next film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Godzilla is bigger than ever right now and today we have a great new short film to watch called Godzilla vs. Megalon!
The epic short comes from Toho and was written and directed by Takuya Uenishi (Shin Godzilla, monster hunter), who also created the impressive visual effects. The short film actually serves as a sequel to Uenishi’s 2022 short film Godzilla vs. Gigan Rexand commemorates Megalon’s fiftieth anniversary. I also included the first short.
If you’re a Godzilla fan, you’ll appreciate that the short film also features various classic Godzilla roars from different eras of films: at the 05:18 mark you can hear Godzilla’s roar from the 1962 Showa era. At 05:50 you’d hear the Heisei Era Roar of 1989. You can also hear the Heisei Era Roar of 1984 at 08:22.
The film also showcases Godzilla’s amazing powers and abilities, including his Atomic Breath, Atomic Pulse, Atomic Punch, Glowing Atomic Breath, and more. It’s insanely fun and the action is badass! We need more Kaiju action like this in movies!
It premiered at Godzilla Fest 2023 on November 3, and now you can watch it for yourself below!
