Fantastic behind the scenes video from the stage play of the prequel STRANGER THINGS: THE FIRST SHADOW

An amazing behind-the-scenes video of the stage show has been released Stranger Things: The First Shadowwhich serves as a prequel to the hit Netflix series Stranger things. The play is set in Hawkins, 1959. The first shadow takes place “before the world was turned upside down.”

The cast includes Louis McCartney (Silent roar, Way of hope, game of Thrones) as Henry Creel; Ella Karuna Williams (The equalizer) as Patty Newby; Patrick Vaill (Oklahoma!, Macbeth, Dash and Lily) as Dr. Brenner; Oscar Lloyd (The 47th, Portofino Hotel, 4 o’clock club) as Jim Hopper, Jr.; Isabella Pappa (Looking for Alice, Valley View Villains, The Nether) as Joyce Maldonado (Joyce Byers’ maiden name); AND Christopher Buckley (David Copperfield, Orphans, Dump Stig) plays Bob Newby.

They are united by Michael Jibson (Bodies, The Essex Snake, Hamilton) as Victor Creel; Lauren Ward (Dear Evan Hansen, Matilda the Musical, Carolina) as Virginia Creel; Shane Attwooll (Wonder Woman 1984, Legend, The last days of Judas Iscariot) as Chief Hopper; Kemi Awoderu as Sue Anderson (Sue Sinclair’s maiden name); Chase Brown as Lonnie Byers; Ammar Duffus plays Charles Sinclair; Gilles Geary as Ted Wheeler; Florence boy as Karen Childress (Karen Wheeler’s maiden name); Max Harwood plays Allen Munson; Matthew Pidgeon as Father Newby; Calum Ross it’s Walter Henderson; AND Maisie Norma Seaton takes on the role of Claudia Henderson.

Additional cast includes Tricia Adele-Turner, Lauren Arney, Reya-Nyomi Brown, Patricia Castro, Lydia Fraser, Isaac Gryn, Mark Hammersley, Tom Peters, Kingdom Sibanda, Tiana Simone, Danny Sykes AND Meesha Turner.

The show features an original story from Stranger things creators The Duffer Brothers, together Jack Thorne AND Kate Trefry. Stranger Things: The First Shadow is directed by Stefano Daldryand the live show is headed to the Phoenix Theater in London.

The official plot synopsis reads:

“Hawkins, 1959: a regular town with regular worries. Young Jim Hopper’s car won’t start, Bob Newby’s sister doesn’t take her radio show seriously, and Joyce Maldonado just wants to graduate and get out of town. When new student Henry Creel arrives, his family discovers that a new beginning isn’t so easy… and the shadows of the past are very long-lasting. Brought to life by an award-winning creative team, taking theatrical storytelling and stagecraft to a whole new dimension, this gripping new adventure will take you back to the beginning of the Stranger Things story – and may hold the key to the END.”
