In Dungeons & Dragons, it’s not uncommon for spells to become stronger if you use a higher level spell slot. However, not all spells do this. Antonio Anderson AND Danny Kodicek recently launched Otto’s irresponsible upcasting to level up even more spells. This supplement requires more than 210 spells and 15 cantrips from Player’s Handbook and it gives them this leveling ability. For example, when you cast Find Familiar in a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, Otto’s irresponsible upcasting will give the familiar an additional 2d4 hit points per level. It won’t be for everyone, but I think there are a lot of players out there who would find it a bit of fun.
