Marvel has released the first trailer for its next episode Hawk eye spin-off series Echo, and it actually sounds like it could be a good show! I mean, trailers can be misleading, but I hope the show delivers something great that fans will enjoy.
I like this character and would love nothing more than for this series to do her justice and tell a great story for her. I know there were a lot of rumors and drama behind the scenes with this show, but maybe the creative team finally managed to make a decent show.
The series centers on Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) as he “struggles to reconnect with his Native American roots while balancing aspirations of a life of crime as the successor to Wilson Fisk’s brutal legacy (Vincenzo D’Onofrio) aka Kingpin. In the first episode we are introduced to Maya Lopez and her struggles.”
When it comes to the series, when Echo Director and executive producer Sydney Freeland was asked about Kingpin’s presence in the series, the director responded: “I’ll say very big. Yes. It’s one of the foundational relationships of the entire series, the relationship between Kingpin and Maya. And we get to finding out that he becomes sort of a surrogate father to her. It’s one of the key relationships in the whole series, I’ll say that.”
The Echo series was developed by Ethan Cohen AND Emily Cohen, who are writers and executive producers of the show. The series is also the protagonist Charlie CoxZahn McClarnon, Chaske Spencer, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Devery JacobsAND Graham Greene.
All five episodes will release on Disney+ and Hulu on April 9, 2024. Check out the trailer and let us know what you think!
