New details emerge about Doctor Doom’s possible plans in the MCU leading up to AVENGERS: SECRET WARS

It was recently reported that Marvel Studios was considering replacing him Jonathan Majors’ Kang The Conqueror with Doctor Doom in the MCU. With many fans talking about it, industry insider Jeff Sneider recently offered some insights that suggest Doom will simply be one of many villains appearing in the latest Avengers film in the Multiverse Saga. Avengers: Secret Wars. He explained on The Hot Mic podcast:

“I still believe Doctor Doom will be introduced in the post-credits sequence of Fantastic Four. [The strike] could potentially affect it. That movie comes out two years before Secret Wars and it seems like if you show it up in 2025…maybe that’s where the semantics problem lies…he’s not the bad guy, he’s a bad guy. There are multiple villains in Secret Wars. It’s inaccurate to say he’s THE bad guy.”

This makes sense. I think it’s safe to say that Doom will definitely appear in the MCU. I mean, you can’t tell a real Fantastic Four story without Doom. While the character could be built very well to be the big bad bad of The Multiverse Saga, I’m not convinced that this is the direction Marvel will take things in, even if it’s been considered.

Avengers: Secret Wars will close The Multiverse Saga in the same way Avengers: Endgame concluded the Infinity Saga, and fans expect it to be one of the biggest MCU films ever made, with many of the fan-favorite Marvel characters returning.

Secret Wars was Marvel Comics’ first major crossover event series and made its debut in 1984. The story centered on Marvel’s greatest heroes and villains transported to Battleworld thanks to a powerful being known as the Beyonder. It is on Battleworld that heroes and villains can decide once and for all whether good or evil is the greater force.

I’m curious to see how the film version of the story will play out in the MCU, but we still have a long way to go.
