Keira Knightley (Pirates of the Caribbean, Atonement, The Boston Strangler) has signed on to star in the dystopian, sci-fi thriller film Conception, in which the British government took control over parenting. The film is written and directed by Camille Griffinwho returns to work with Knightley after directing her in the film Silent night (2021).
The official synopsis of the film reads:
“Conception is a sci-fi thriller set in the not-too-distant future of Britain, where the government has taken authoritarian control over parenting. The film follows Rita (Knightley), a loyal public servant who believes in the ruthless system she upholds, until unexpected events endanger her status as a parent, making her a victim of the same laws she so readily inflicted on others. .
It seems like a pretty crazy story, but one that totally intrigues me. Knightley is the only cast member to join the project so far, but we’ll keep you updated as she evolves.
