NAUTILUS, the canceled Captain Nemo series from Disney+ finds a home at AMC

Last year, Disney Studios produced a ten-part series titled Nautilus, inspired by Jules Verne’s classic novel, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. After the entire first season of the series was filmed, Disney+ canceled it. Well, Nautilus has found a new home at AMC, where it will air in 2024. I was actually curious about this series and looking forward to watching it, so it’s great that the show is finally releasing.

The series was intended to put a new spin on the famous 19th century novel, “telling the origin story of Captain Nemo and his legendary submarine, the Nautilus. An Indian prince robbed of his birthright and his family, a prisoner of the East India Company, and a man bent on revenge against the forces that took everything from him, Nemo sets sail with his ragtag crew aboard the majestic ship, fighting the enemies and discover magical underwater worlds.”

Shazad Latif (The search for love) takes on the lead role of Captain Nemo. His character is described as an “enigmatic Indian prince who steals a fantastic submarine from the East India Company and sets sail in search of underwater adventures.” That submarine is the legendary Nautilus.

Ben Davis, EVP of original programming at AMC Networks and AMC Studios, said in a statement: “Nautilus is a big, sweeping drama that is sure to please fans of Anne Rice’s immortal universe and other lively, fan-forward series like Orphan Black : Echoes”. . We look forward to bringing it to AMC+ and AMC as a special television event next year.”

Michael Matthews directed the epic 10-part series and Giacomo Dormer he served as executive producer and wrote the series. The show is also the protagonist Georgia flood AND Thierry Fremontwith Pacharo Mzembe, Arlo Verde, Tyrone Ngatai, Ling Cooper Tang, Andrea Shaw, Ashan Kumar, Celine Menville AND Kayden Price.

The series has been filmed in Australia, starting last year, with the support of the Australian government and is distributed by Disney Entertainment.
