Loki Season 2 has been really great so far and I’ve found myself immersed in the story they’re telling with Loki and these other characters. The direction they took the story was interesting and the ending of episode 4 was definitely something I didn’t see coming, and left fans with quite a cliffhanger.
Throughout the second season, Loki and his friends worked to prevent the Time Frame refinement of the timeline from exploding and destroying everything. Then, at the end of the fourth episode, they failed their mission, which I totally didn’t expect! They couldn’t save the situation and I didn’t expect that to happen so early in the season. It was shocking, but we still have two episodes left and it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out after this massive MCU-changing event.
I love that the show went and did something completely unexpected like this. When we talk about the series and take the floor away from the audience, the producer Kevin Wright explained:
“It’s something we started to learn in the first season. This idea of accelerating the story. If it looks like the season is going to be about repairing the Time Frame, what if… it breaks right in the middle of the season and everything is fine?” wrong?”
He went on to talk about the cliffhanger ending and teased that the series will take us to some deep places:
“Not only did it allow us to have a great cliffhanger, but where you go next is completely new territory. If the first four episodes of season two are about things falling apart or not working; choices are made that maybe aren’t the right.” right choices, then the second half can really allow us to reach hopefully profound places.”
Wright goes on to explain that to “earn the crazy moment, head writer Eric Martin and his team felt a sense of duty to drag the character drama into “straight different” territory beforehand. Going forward, “It will be new ground.”
