Some never-before-seen photos have recently surfaced Heath Ledger applying his Joker makeup for Christopher Nolan’s The dark Knight. They offer an interesting behind-the-scenes and heartfelt look at Ledger as he created his version of the iconic Batman villain, which later earned him the “Best Supporting Actor” Oscar for his incredible performance.
A caption with the photos noted that Nolan “used scenes where the Joker has his hands painted when he wasn’t wearing gloves.” That makeup was in his hands because Ledger was the one who actually did the makeup on his face. I always liked that little detail.
