Trailer for Hulu’s crime comedy series OBITUARY – “To live, she writes. To write, she kills”

Hulu has released a trailer for a wickedly funny looking crime comedy series titled Obituary. The story centers on a young woman named Elvira Clancy, who writes obituaries for the local newspaper in a small Irish town. When the newspaper begins to have financial difficulties, Elvira is told that she will be paid per obituary, so to keep the money, she begins killing people.

The synopsis reads: “Elvira Clancy, 24 years old (Siobhan Cullen) loves her job writing obituaries, but lately she’s been feeling dissatisfied. And when her newspaper falls on hard times, her boss tells her that he can’t keep her on her payroll. Overnight, she finds herself getting paid per obituary. So when she “accidentally” kills a rude person in town, she discovers that she may have an unsatisfied bloodlust! She enjoys using increasingly cunning methods to kill the city’s “unsavory residents”, all while making them look like accidents. Unfortunately, a snag occurs: the paper hires a suspicious new crime correspondent with a penchant for conspiracy theories. The worst part? Elvira really, really likes it…”

The film was created by Ray Lawlor, who described the series as “a funny and darkly twisted drama that proudly allows me to transport some of the spirit and characters I encounter every day in my home town of Castlebar into the living rooms of the Irish. “

The series is also the protagonist Michael Smiley, Ronan Raftery, Daniele Galligan, David GanlyAND Michael Hough. Hulu will make its debut Obituary on November 21, 2023.
