Academy Award winning actress Olivia Colman (The favorite) and Oscar-nominated actor Dev Patel (Slum millionaire) have signed on to star in the romance film “Twisted,” Wickerby directors Alex Huston Fischer and Eleanor Wilson (Save yourselves!), who adapted the screenplay for the film based on the short story “The Wicker Husband” by Ursula Wills-Jones.
In the film, Colman will play a “smelly fisherman” who sparks outrage and jealousy in her conservative town due to an unconventional love story. The project is not currently a SAG production and won’t shoot until mid-next year in Europe.
The official synopsis reads:
“On the outskirts of a village by the sea, lives a fisherman (Olivia Colman); smelly, single and perpetually ridiculed. One day, fed up with her narrow-minded and narrow-minded neighbors, she hires herself a husband made of wicker (Dev Patel). In an otherwise conservative city, this unconventional love story sparks outrage, jealousy and chaos.”
Colman will be seen next Paolo Re’S Wonka, Thea Sharrock’S Wicked little lettersthe latter of which he also produced, and Dougal Wilson’S Paddington in Peru.
Patel can currently be seen Wes Anderson’S The wonderful story of Henry Sugaras well as Poison on Netflix. We will soon see him as the protagonist of his directorial debut Monkey man which he also co-wrote and produced.
