The producer of FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S wanted to scare the SESAME STREET generation, and there’s a new featurette

The long-awaited film adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s is finally coming out in theaters this week and today we have a new featurette to share with you titled “For The Fans.” Offers new footage and insights into the film through interviews with the cast and crew.

Then in a recent interview with GamesRadar, the film’s producer, Jason Blum, talked about the film and brought the terrifying animatronic creatures to life in the film. Blumhouse enlisted the help of Jim Henson’s Creature Shop to achieve their goal of making them authentically terrifying. When asked if her intention was to scare audiences who grew up watching Sesame Street with robots, she said:

“It really is! I like introducing people to horror very young and early. I thought it would be a great way to do exactly that and convert a group of young people into horror fans.”

Director Emma Tammi he also talked about how the PG-13 rating makes the film a “gateway” to the horror genre for younger viewers. I actually got my kids into horror movies at a young age. It started with movies like House of Monsters, and from there we built the base. Now my kids are big horror fans! In fact, now they’re really only interested in watching horror movies! I’ll never forget the first time I showed them the original Poltergeist movie. This is one of my favorite memories of watching a movie with my kids.

Blum and Tammi were asked what they would do if they had to face these creepy animatronics in real life. Tammi’s response was, “If you can’t beat them, join them.” Blum’s response was, “Oh, I like that. I agree. I would have my own suit, my own animatronic. I would find my own animatronic to start joining the band.”

The film follows “a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As he spends his first night on the job, he realizes that it won’t be so easy to complete the night shift at Freddy’s. You see, there are ghost children who have giant animatronics that they want to terrorize.

He is the protagonist Josh Hutcherson (Ultraman, Hunger Games), Elizabeth Lail (You, Mack and Rita), Piper Rubio (Holly & Ivy, Unstable), Kat Conner Sterling (We have a ghost, 9-1-1), with Mary Stuart Masterson (Blind spot, fried green tomatoes) AND Matthew Lillard (Good girls, scream).

The film will be released on October 27. Watch the featurette below!
