The film was written and directed by first-time director Bryn Chainey. Wood said in a statement: “Bryn’s vision for Rabbit trap cleverly blends the world of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop with authentic Celtic fairy tradition to create a mythical wedding story that unfolds in a soundscape. It’s an absolutely unique vision from an important new voice in cinema that we are privileged to be a part of.”
Stephen Kelliher of Bankside Films added: “We were immediately drawn to Bryn’s stunning and commanding take on a horror story that will immerse audiences in a more cinematic and sonic world, filled with spirits from the ancient world. The creative team behind and in front of the camera is exceptional and we are thrilled to bring this long-awaited debut to the world.”
