Mia Goth will play the bride in Guillermo del Toro’s film FRANKENSTEIN and other roles revealed

Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy, Blade 2, The Shape of Water) is currently developing the long-awaited film adaptation of Mary Shelley’S Frankenstein for Netflix. The project has a great cast including Andrea Garfield, Oscar IsaacAND My Gothicand a new report has emerged claiming to know who the actors will play in the film.

According to What’s on Netflix, Isaac will reportedly take on the role of the Monster; Garfield will play Dr. Frankenstein, his creator; and Goth will play The Bride. It would make sense if this turned out to be true. Regardless of who the actors play, this cast will deliver great performances! I’m a little disappointed about this, though Douglas Jones he’s not playing The Monster.

When Del Toro first revealed that he was finally making the project, he said, “I’m doing it Frankenstein. We’re working on it. We’ll start shooting in February and it’s a film I’ve wanted to make for 50 years, ever since I saw the first one. Frankenstein. I had an epiphany, and it’s basically a film that took a lot of growth and a lot of tools that I couldn’t have done 10 years ago. Now I’m brave enough or crazy enough or something, and we’ll deal with it.

The director previously shared his love for the property, but also explained that he’s scared to make it happen: “Frankenstein for me it’s the pinnacle of everything, and part of me wants to make a version of it, part of me held back for more than 25 years before making it happen. I dream of being able to achieve the maximum Frankenstein never, but then if you make it, you’ve made it. Whether it’s great or not, it’s done. You can’t dream about it anymore. This is a director’s tragedy. You can dream about something but once you’ve achieved it, you’ve achieved it. That’s all. You got a 10 or a 6.5 but you were already at the Olympics and were judged.

The producer of the film, J. Miles Dale, also talked about the film and offered some further insight into it. According to him, Del Toro is building his own monster universe. He explains: “At one time, he was supposed to do the monster universe with Universal – Bride of Frankenstein, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man – and he didn’t. Form of water it was kind of a creature version. So now here he is creating his own Monster Universe.”

I love that del Toro is trying to create a monster universe! He made such an incredible and wonderful film with The shape of waterand I have no doubt that it will be fantastic Frankenstein movie! Dale went on to say that it will be a “deeply emotional” film: “In the last two films, certainly with Alley of nightmares and then with Pinocchio, we dealt with the whole father-son relationship. And Guillermo and I have both lost our fathers in the last few years. When you have a strong father figure, he is an important part of our life. This version of Frankenstein a lot follows that thematic path. So, I think this is the third film in Guillermo’s father’s trilogy. It’s emotional, and when you read the script, it’s very emotional and, obviously, very iconic.”

Speaking about the film’s cast, Dale said: “It’s a pretty good cast. We’ve had pretty good casts in the last two films. The last one was crazy, frankly. I mean, it’s a cast that tickles me. And so it was The shape of water launch. This is another dream cast. I think there are a lot of actors who really want to work with Guillermo, and that makes things a little easier. So it should be fun. Nothing is easy, and this isn’t going to be easy – it’s a big movie with a ship stuck in the ice and a lot of other things – but we have some time to make it and we’re excited to do it. go ahead.”
