A new TV commercial is out Eli Roththe holiday slasher horror film Thanksgiving, and introduces us to a new legend of American Christmas horror. In the film, a slasher stalks the quiet streets of Plymouth, Massachusetts, haunting its residents as they celebrate time-honored Thanksgiving traditions.
Thanksgiving is based on the Roth-directed fake trailer for the 2017 film Grindhouse. The story centers on a Pilgrim-like killer who “creates his own platter with the residents of a Massachusetts town that makes a big annual fuss on the annual turkey day.”
In the film, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts, the birthplace of the holiday. Picking off residents one by one, what begins as random revenge killings turns out to be soon be part of a larger, more sinister holiday plan. Will the town uncover the killer and survive the holiday… or will it become a guest at his twisted holiday table?”
The cast includes Addison Rae (He is all of this) in the lead role, Patrick Dempsey, Jalen Thomas Brooks (Walker), Milo Mannheim (Zombie), Nell Verlaque (Big shot), Gina Gershon (Chucky), Tim Dillon AND Rick Hoffmann (Hostel).
Roth wrote the screenplay with Jeff Rendell. Roger Birnbaum and Eli Roth are producing. Thanksgiving will be released in theaters on November 17, 2023.
