Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for the upcoming romantic comedy Anyone but you. Movie stars Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) AND Glen Powell (Top Gun: nonconformist) like two people who don’t like each other and pretend to be in a relationship.
The two characters are old college enemies and end up faking their relationship after being invited to a wedding that both of their exes will be attending
The film is described as an “edgy comedy” and the synopsis reads: “Bea (Sweeney) and Ben (Powell) seem like the perfect couple, but after an extraordinary first date something happens that turns their fiery attraction to ice, until they don’t find themselves unexpectedly reunited at a wedding in Australia. So they do what two mature adults would do: they pretend to be a couple.
Sweeney previously said of the film during an appearance at CinemaCon: “What better place to put a nightmare and an asshole than on the other side of the world in the most romantic setting imaginable?”
The film was directed and co-written by Will Gluck (Easy one), with Ilana Wolpert (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) co-writing the screenplay. The film is also the protagonist Dermot Mulroney (Scream VI), Alexandra Shipp (Barbie), Michelle Hurd (Star Trek: Picard), GaTa (Dave), Hadley Robinson (Winning time), Darren Barnett (I have never), AND Rachel Griffith (Six feet under).
Anyone but you is the latest R-rated comedy to hit theaters on December 22, 2023.
