THE Five Nights at Freddy’s The film has yet to be released, but if the long-awaited horror film proves to be a success at the box office and with audiences, you can bet that Blumhouse will want to continue the franchise. They have been working on this adaptation for a long time and the reason is this producer Jason Blum stuck is because he saw the possibility of a successful horror franchise.
The game franchise consists of 13 video games and over 30 novels, and there are more on the way! This is a very popular property, so it makes sense that Blumhouse would want to expand it into a film franchise.
During a recent interview with /Film, the director Emma Tammi she was asked if she would be willing to visit some of the other Five Nights at Freddy’s locations, such as “Circus Baby’s Pizza World” or the “Mega Pizzaplex”, home of the Glamrock models of the animatronics. She explained that she’s excited to explore the universe further, saying:
“I’m not closing the door on this at all. I would be so excited to make more movies in this world… so fingers crossed.”
According to the article, the film Five Nights at Freddy’s includes many references and Easter eggs to look out for that lay the foundation for future films. Plus, there’s the fact that one of the film’s stars, Matthew Lillard, has already teased it Five Nights at Freddy’s will have at least three films.
Blum has previously spoken about the future of the franchise, saying:
“Well, I think the right video games are great source material for movies. I mean, you’ve seen it with too [The Super Mario Bros. Movie]. It’s a different genre, but it was an incredibly successful film. I really hope that’s the case [with Five Nights at Freddy’s]. James [Wan] he’s actually a big gamer and we have a gaming division of our company that we’re working on. I’m looking forward to finding more popular games that we can turn into horror movies.”
I can’t wait to watch the next movie and I just hope the creative team makes a really great, fun and disturbing movie. If it is… I can’t wait to see more!
The film follows “a troubled security guard as he begins working at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
