Marvel Comics reveals WHAT IF… inspired by Disney?  Variant covers with mashups of Mickey Mouse and his friends

Marvel Comics has revealed a new line of What If…? Variant covers featuring Mickey Mouse and his friends on classic comic book covers. A few months ago we shared the first set of Disney1000 variants, celebrating 100 years of the House of Mouse.

There are three Disney What If? Variant covers including two per artist Lorenzo Pastrovicchio and another of Vital Bird Eater.

Pastrovicchio’s variant for Amazing Spider-Man #41 (on sale January 3) pays homage Jack Kirby AND Dick Ayers’ cover of Avengers #1 from 1963. His other variant for Amazing Spider-Man #43 (on sale February 14) pays homage to Kirby and Sol BrodskyThe equally iconic cover of 1963’s X-Men #1.

The Bird Eater variant for Amazing Spider-Man #45 (on sale March 6) pays homage to Kirby and Brodsky’s cover for 1965’s Avengers #16.
