Alicia Silverstone AND Karl Glusmann are set to star in a project titled The bird and the bee, which is described as a “sexually charged thriller.” Silverstone plays a successful executive in the film who battles a scorned young lover (Glusman) who takes his obsession with her too far.
The film is directed by Justin Kelly (Welcome to the Stranger), who described the film as “a unique take on a twisted love story that I’m excited to bring to life because it’s not only a great story but also an exciting departure from my previous films. As I read Donnelly’s brilliant script, I immediately imagined the look and feel of so many great erotic thrillers of the ’80s and ’90s: elegant, moody and sexy.
The film’s screenplay was written by Atlantis actor Jack Donnelly. The director then added: “I am honored to work with the iconic Alicia Silverstone for the second time (after KING COBRA) and with the talented Karl Glusman: their on-screen chemistry is electric. A big thank you to Yale Productions for our third collaboration together, to SAG for blessing us with an interim deal, and to my incredible cast and crew. I can’t wait to share this film with the world.”
Producers Jordan Yale Levine (Becky, bandit) AND Jordan Beckerman (Parting, Becky) shared in a statement: “We are thrilled to be working with Justin on a third film. His presence is always a sure sign of an artistic and inspiring story with a depth in every shot that has become a signature of his work.
It looks like it’s going to be an interesting movie. I’ve been a fan of Silverstone for years, and it’s been great to see her continue to get good roles.
