HALLOWEEN director David Gordon Green talks about reports of STAR WARS involvement

Halloween trilogy e Exorcist: believer director David Gordon Green recently addressed reports that he is involved with Lucasfilm Star Wars franchising. It turns out there is some truth to these reports as the director has actually met with Lucasfilm executives in the past to discuss Star Warsbut there are currently no plans for him to take on a project set in the galaxy far, far away.

News of Gordon Green’s involvement began to emerge earlier this year. They claimed that Green had been hired to develop a Star Wars project ahead of the release of 2022’s Halloween Ends. In response to this, he clarified on the Happy Sad Confused podcast:

“I met some people there, but there was never a plan or an idea. These kinds of encounters are fun because I know a lot, at least about the old Star Wars movies. The reality is that, once again, the mechanism may look at me with too much skepticism. Like everything, there are executives who want to know who’s out there and what they’re thinking: “He’s dusted off a Halloween franchise or he’s working on an Exorcist franchise, I wonder if he has something creative to bring to the table?” . My impulses are always rather eccentric.”

When asked what corner of the Star Wars universe might appeal to Gordon Green, Green responded: “I’d be very curious too, [to see] where it would go.”

Gordon Green won’t develop any Star Wars projects any time soon as he is currently working with Blumhouse to direct a trilogy of exorcist movie. Green has been hit and miss in films throughout his career. I don’t really see it bringing anything special to the Star Wars franchising, though. What do you think?
