With the end of the first season of Star Wars: Ahsoka, fans are wondering when we’ll see season 2 because there are a lot of story threads that have been left open to explore. It was previously reported that Season 2 had already been greenlit and that work on the project had already begun after the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes began.
Well, now we have news from Deadline… that might not be the case. The outlet reported that a second season of Star Wars was “in the conversation,” even though nothing was blocked at the moment. They said:
“However, from the conversation we heard that Ahsoka season 2 is more of a reality, although nothing is locked in yet. Tonight there were no signs indicating that Ahsoka would be returning in the immediate future. Of course, the end of the WGA strike and the ongoing actors’ strike have postponed production for some time.”
So that’s disheartening to hear. The first season ended in a way that set up some great story arcs, and now it looks like we’ll have to wait a while to see some of these stories continue to unfold. I’m pretty demoralized right now. All I can say is that I hope Deadline’s reporting is wrong.
Ahsoka was written and produced by Dave Filoni and produced by Jon Favreau AND Kathleen Kennedy. I’m sure they have the next stories planned! They all know where we’re going with this!
