Anthony Daniels talks about returning to play C-3PO in the STAR WARS AHSOKA series

There are some Star Wars characters who have appeared in most of the films and shows in the franchise, who are fan favorites and members of the original cast. Antonio Daniels falls into that category, as he plays the beloved golden droid, C-3PO. We got to see him again in the hit Disney+ series Ahsokain last week’s penultimate episode, titled “Dreams and Madness,” in which he returned alongside the prequel movie star Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, who we also saw at the beginning of the season.

Daniels took to Instagram to share a warm message with fans about his return, stating:

“I never thought Threepio would have the honor of appearing in the rightly praised film, Ahsoka. So we were both surprised to receive a call from the Master himself, Dave Filoni. And then there we were, enveloped in the absolutely addictive effects of The Volume. And there they were, the dedicated crew and cast of adorable and talented humans and droids. Rarely have 3PO and I received such an enthusiastic welcome, nor such loving support during our days on set. I heard fans were moved to tears by seeing their golden friend on screen once again. I was equally moved by the surprised ovation from the assembled team as I finally emerged from that iconic figure. Perhaps this is a good time to thank them, and so many millions of people, for the love they have shown my friend over so many years. So… on behalf of him… Thank you.”

It’s always great to see C-3PO return in any capacity, and it’s great to see Daniels return to the role. The final episode of Ahsoka The first season will air on Disney+ this Tuesday, October 3.
