Netflix has released a trailer for its disturbing religious horror thriller titled Sister Deathwhich serves as a prequel to the 2017 film Veronica. The film centers on a cursed nun tormented by something evil.
The film is set in post-war Spain and the story follows Narcisa, “a young novice with supernatural powers, who arrives at a former convent, now a girls’ school, to become a teacher. As the days pass, the strange events and increasingly disturbing situations that torment her will finally lead her to reveal the terrible tangle of secrets that surround the convent and persecute its inhabitants.
The film was directed by REC co-creator Paco Plaza from a screenplay by Jorge Guerricaechevarri. He is the protagonist Consuelo Trujillo, Almudena Amor, Luisa Merelas, Chelo VivaresAND Maru Valdivielso.
The film debuts on Friday, October 27. Sister Death the Sitges Film Festival will open on October 5th.
