Danny Glover stars as Santa Claus in the teaser trailer for the Disney+ Christmas movie THE NAUGHTY NINE

Disney has released a new teaser trailer for their next original Christmas movie, The Nine Villainshero Danny Glover as the big man himself, Santa Claus. The film, which will be released on Disney Channel and Disney+, tells the story of “mischievous fifth grader Andy (Winslow Fegley), [who] finds himself without a gift from Santa Claus on Christmas morning. Realizing he has ended up on the “naughty list” and feeling unfairly maligned, Andy assembles a team of eight other naughty listeners to help him execute an elaborate heist in Santa Claus Village at the North Pole to get the presents they feel they deserve. Along the way, the group realizes that the best way to get off the naughty list is to redirect their unique talents towards good, instead of evil.

The film’s ensemble includes Fegley (8-bit Christmas) as Andy; Camila Rodriguez as Dulce, Andy’s best friend and archery expert; Antonio Joo (New Amsterdam) as North Pole conspiracy theorist Lewis; Imogen Cohen (The quite strange parents) as the daredevil driver Ha-Yoon; Clara Pila (Hawk eye) as animal whisperer Rose; Deric McCabe (A wrinkle in time) as master of disguise Jon Anthony; Ayden Elia as the lovable charmer Albert; AND Madilyn Kellam (Afterwalker) as Andy’s older sister Laurel, a skilled gymnast trying to regain his confidence. Derek Theler (Small dad) is Bruno, a disgruntled cargo pilot who claims to have seen Santa Claus flying in his sleigh.

The film is directed by Alberto Belli (House of flowers), AND Susanne Todd (Noella) is an executive producer. The screenplay was written by Jed Elinoff AND Scott Thomas (Raven’s house), who also serve as executive producers.

It looks like it’s going to be a fun new Christmas movie for families to enjoy! The Nine Villains debuts November 22nd at 8pm ET on Disney Channel and Thanksgiving Day on Disney+. Check out the trailer below:
