The KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON featurette focuses on the film’s story and characters

A new behind-the-scenes featurette for the director has been released Martin Scorsese’S The assassins of the Flower Moon. This promo focuses on explaining the tragic story the film tells and offers insight into the characters we will be introduced to in that story.

The video includes interviews with the cast and crew, including Scorsese, Leonardo DicaprioAND Lily Gladstone. Scorsese explains that he wanted to do justice to the Osage so that “the audience would feel the immensity of the tragedy.”

The film is based on David Grannthe book of, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI, and the story is set in 1920s Oklahoma. It describes the serial murder of members of the oil-rich Osage nation, a series of brutal crimes that became known as the Reign of Terror. Here is a description of the story:

In the late nineteenth century, the Osage Indians were driven to a supposedly worthless expanse of land in northeastern Oklahoma. But it turned out that their territory sat atop one of the largest oil fields in the United States; to obtain that oil, prospectors had to pay rents and royalties to the tribe. By the 1920s, members of the Osage Nation had become the richest people per capita in the world. And then the Osage began to die under mysterious circumstances.

DiCaprio stars in the film as Ernest Burkhart and Gladstone she plays Mollie Burkhart, an Osage married to Ernest, grandson of a powerful local rancher, played by De Niro. Brendan Fraser (The Mummy) AND Jesse Plemon (Horn) also star in the film.
