The Marvel limited series Echo has been in the works for a while, and was recently pushed from November to January, and along with this change, it was also reportedly trimmed from six episodes to five. Reliable industry scoop CanWeGetSomeToast claims that an entire episode was deleted from the already short season due to “pacing issues.” I guess they figured they could tell the story in five episodes, and since there hasn’t been much buzz around this series, they figured less is more in this case.
Echo’s origin story revisits Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), whose ruthless behavior in New York reaches her in her hometown. If she ever hopes to move forward, she will have to face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots, and embrace the meaning of family and community.
Instead of debuting on November 29th as originally planned, the show will launch on Disney+ in January 2024.
We’ve heard it on the Marvel/Disney+ TV news, too Ms. Marvel Season 2 is already in the works. The creators of the series, Adil El Arbi AND Bilall Fallahrecently said that a second season will depend on what happens with Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) in the upcoming film The wonders. But it seems that if the rumors are true, there would still be enough story to tell in a second season for the character.
The wonders will be released in theaters on November 10th.
