The producer of HELLBOY: THE CROOKED MAN explains why Jack Kesy is the right choice for Big Red

There’s a new Hellboy movie on the way with a new actor taking over the role of Big Red. The film is titled Hellboy: The Crooked ManAND Jack Kesy is the actor who will take on the role of Hellboy. I have no idea if it will be a good movie or not, or if Kesy is the right person for the Hellboy job, but I like the story the movie tells!

The film’s script was written by the creator of the franchise Mike Mignola AND Chris Golden. The story is based on the comic of the same name and in that story Hellboy teams up with a rookie BPRD agent named Tom Ferrell and they find themselves stranded in the rural Appalachians of the 1950s. “There they discover a small, witch-infested community, led by a local devil with a disturbing connection to Hellboy’s past: the Crooked Man.” The story will “expand Hellboy’s world through one of the comic book series’ most beloved themes.”

Ron Perlmann is the fan-favorite version of Hellboy, and while Davide Porto suited to the role, the film was ultimately a huge disappointment. One thing the two have in common is that they both had a built-in fan base before they were cast. Jack Kesy? I didn’t even know who that guy was or what he was in. He certainly doesn’t have the same reputation as Perlman and Harbor, but the producers of the new film obviously felt that he had what it took to play the title role. character.

The crooked man producer Les Weldon he had worked with Kesy before and therefore knew what he could bring to the table. When talking about why he believes Kesy is the right person for the job, Weldon told Collider:

“We went on a long soul-searching expedition to find the right Hellboy, and we knew that this Hellboy was going to be a very moody, very dark and disturbing movie. There’s nothing brilliant, nothing like that. And Jack, look , I had worked with Jack before, as well as other guys in our company, and we came to the same conclusion that that kind of personality that he has would work really well for that movie.”

So, it’s all about Kesy’s personality. We’ll just have to wait and see if she really has what it takes to make it. The producers are really hoping that this film will launch a whole new series of Hell boy movie. It all depends on the script, the story and the casting.

Mignola had already spoken about the project and speaking of Kesy’s casting for the main role, he said: “I’ve never met him [Kesy]. I’ve only seen the photos and I’ve seen it a little in the movies. He definitely has the look. Everyone who has worked with him says he is fantastic. This thing was done very quickly, so I think the fact that it’s great and helpful, is that I’m a little smart about it, but I just have to trust that everyone is right.

He also talked about the director Brian Taylor’S (Crank, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, Player) dark horror vision of the film saying:

“His intention is to make a horror movie, so it will be cute. It will be interesting. I read the new draft of the script yesterday and yes, it’s definitely R. It’s the first Hellboy script I’ve read and thought, “Oh, it’s a horror movie,” which is what I wanted. Taylor doesn’t have a reputation as a horror film director. But so far we’ve had two horror movie directors make Hellboy movies and we’ve never gotten a horror movie.

“For years, we’ve said, if you’re going to make a Hellboy movie, make it small. And the perfect story to do this is my favorite, “The Crooked Man”. I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever written. It’s beautifully illustrated by Richard Corben and is a solid story that doesn’t involve a million different characters. Actually everyone agreed from the beginning: “Yes, we want to do this.” Budget-wise, it’s good because it’s a lower budget story. It’s not the origin of Hellboy. Hellboy isn’t the one saving the world. It’s not huge. It’s a subtle, dark, folksy horror story.”

Mignola also said that this film is one of the most faithful adaptations so far. So that’s a good sign.
