A fun aspect of the Star Wars universe is the surprise actors who pop up in movies and shows because they simply want to be part of the lore in some way. The series Ahsoka was no different, and this week’s episode gave us a fun little surprise in the form of two characters you may or may not have recognized. The episode, titled “Part Six: Far, Far Away,” introduced us to the Nightsister Klothow and the other witches of Dathomir on Peridea, as well as the army of night soldiers led by Captain Enoch.
The characters were played by science fiction veterans Claudia Nera AND Wes Chathamas Klothow and Enoch respectively.
/Film reports that Black is best known for playing Aeryn Sun in “Farscape,” the hit 1990s science fiction series. She would go on to play Vala Mal Doran on “Stargate SG-1,” and has since appeared in multi-episode stints on genre shows as diverse as “Rick and Morty,” “Roswell, New Mexico” and “The Nevers.” .” Black is also a rather prolific video game voice actor, having voiced Chloe Frazer in the “Uncharted” series and Admiral Daro’Xen vas Moreh in the “Mass Effect” series.
Chatham played Amos Burton in all six seasons of “The Expanse,” before his turn in “Ahsoka.” He also had a small role as rogue cameraman Castor in the “Hunger Games” films and appeared briefly as a SWAT agent in Christopher Nolan’s “Tenet.” With Thrawn’s old bodyguard and favorite assassin Rukh no longer in the picture, following his demise in “Rebels,” this leaves a nice opening for Enoch to fill the remaining episodes of “Ahsoka” and potentially beyond.
It’s possible that both Klothow and Enoch will have substantial roles to play in “Ahsoka” creator Dave Filoni’s retelling of the Thrawn Legends/Expanded Universe trilogy arc, starting with their brief introductions in “Far, Far Away “. If they don’t and it’s just a one-off, it’s just fun to see another pair of sci-fi actors get a chance to join the Star Wars universe.
