Sony Pictures has released the first trailer for Nicolas Cageis the next western thriller Butcher’s Crossing, and this will be yet another crazy movie project that Cage will be involved with. In this film he plays a wild buffalo hunter.
The film is based on the novel by John Edward Williamsand was directed by Gabe Polsky. The “epic frontier adventure”, Butcher’s Crossing, is a compelling commentary on human nature, ambition, masculinity and man’s relationship with his natural environment. Oscar winner Nicolas Cage stars in a gritty story about buffalo hunters in the Old West. Will Andrews (Fred Hechinger) left Harvard to seek adventure. He teams up with Miller (Cage), a mysterious frontiersman who offers an unprecedented number of buffalo hides in an isolated valley. Their crew must survive an arduous journey where harsh elements will test everyone’s resolve, leaving their sanity on the razor’s edge.
The story is set in the 1870s and is said to “dismantle the myths of modern America”. This looks like a great movie that tells a harrowing story of wilderness survival with a boy who is going crazy.
The film is also the protagonist Xander Berkeley, Rachel Keller, Jeremy BobbAND Paolo Racci. Sony will release Butcher’s Crossing in theaters October 20, 2023.
