Shawn Levy teases Deadpool and Wolverine’s chemistry in DEADPOOL 3, calling it “relentless and fantastic”

Director Shawn Levy is giving us a status update on how he left things on the set of Deadpool 3, after having to leave the work unfinished due to the ongoing strike. We all know that the next movie will welcome the return of Hugh Jackmanit’s Wolverine, and we’ve been dreaming about the big, fast-paced relationship we’ll see him share Ryan ReynoldsIt’s Deadpool.

While filming is on hold, Levy provided Deadline with a positive update (via CB):

“Well, like the rest of our industry, or at least much of it, we’re on hiatus. We were halfway through filming Deadpool, with Wolverine co-starring. It was a joy every day, and that chemistry is, I have to say, alert spoilers, it’s as relentlessly awesome as we all hoped it would be. But we’re halfway through filming, we’ve closed down, our crew and the rest of us are waiting for a fair and equitable deal that will end these strikes and put our industry and certainly understanding of our film at work.”

The film is the protagonist Emma Corrin like the bad guy, Morena Baccarin AND Stefan Kapicic like Vanessa and Colossus, Matthew Macfadyen in an unknown role, Karan Soni as Dopinder, and Leslie Uggam in the role of blind Al. They are united by Brianna Hildebrand AND Shioli Kutsuna who will also return to the franchise as Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend, Yukio.

It has been confirmed that there will be two different versions of Wolverine in the film, and it was also recently confirmed that Jennifer Garner will return as Elektra from the 2003 Daredevil film. There are reports that several other X-Men characters may appear such as Halle Berry like Storm, Famke Janssen as Jean Grey, and James Marsden going back to playing Cyclops! There are also reports that Ben Affleck will appear in the film as Daredevil and Channing Tatum appearing as Gambit. It was also previously reported that Deadpool 3 will feature more than two variations of Ryan Reynolds’ Dead Pool.

Deadpool 3 Theatrical release is currently scheduled for May 3, 2024.
