Neil GaimanThe live-action adaptation of the epic fantasy story The Sandman is getting a physical DVD and Blu-Ray box set release from Netflix. This is one of the few Netflix shows that will be receiving a physical release and in addition to all eight episodes, the acclaimed series will also receive a ton of cool and interesting bonus extras.
The box set will also include the bonus episode, which adapts some of the fan-favorite stories. The special features will also include behind-the-scenes extras, including two features called “The Sandman: Behind the Scenes Sneak Peek” and “The World of the Endless.” The latter seems to be very interesting for fans as it will offer a deep dive into The Sandman’s godlike brothers, The Endless.
Netflix doesn’t release many physical releases for their projects, but they obviously felt this series deserved it. Other projects released in the past included Orange is the new blackMarvel Reckless, The IrishAND Marriage history.
The Sandman the box set will be released on November 20, 2023. A second season of the series is on the way. It was in development but was put on hold during the Hollywood strikes.
Gaiman shared, “The SAG-AFTRA strike has begun. Sandman has stopped shooting entirely, along with everything else that was creaking without writers. I hope AMPTP sees reason and gets back to the table with the actors and writers. I have no reason at this point to think they will understand reason.”
