Tim Burton’s BEETLEJUICE 2 had less than two days left to shoot before the actors’ strike

Tim Burton we were only less than two days away from completing production Beetle juice 2 before the SAG-AFTRA strike began. He was so close to finishing filming and the team was 99% done with the film. Burton shared this information during an interview with The Independent, saying:

“I’m grateful that we got what we got. Literally, it was a day and a half. We know what we have to do. It’s 99% done.”

While he’s grateful that they made it this far into production, it still has to be frustrating that they only had less than two days left to complete filming. Meanwhile, they can work on the film in the post-production process.

The film takes you back Michael Keatonwho returns to play the role of Ghost with the Most, Winona Ryder as Lydia Deetz, Jenna Ortega like his daughter, Catherine O’Hara as Delia Deetz, Justin Theroux (Leftovers), AND Monica Bellucci (Irreversible, Spectrum, The Apartment) as Beetlejuice’s wife in the story. Willem Dafoe he’s also in the movie and plays a ghoulish law enforcement officer in Neitherworld.

The cinematographer of the film Haris Zambarloukos recently offered some additional insight into the film by explaining that the film will tell a story about family: “Its heart is Beetlejuice [2]’ is the story of a family, and now it’s 30 years later and what are the complexities and the human condition of keeping a family together for all that time set in the craziest world possible? That’s why I choose projects. That human connection is always at the forefront for me.”

Production on the project began this week with Burton directing from a script written by Alfred Gough AND Miles Millar (Wednesday AND Smallville). The screenplay was also developed by Mike Vukadinovichwith earlier drafts of Seth Grahame-Smith AND David Katzenberg. Katzenberg and Grahame-Smith are producing. Danny Elfman he is also returning to compose the score.

The film will be released in theaters on September 6, 2024.
