One of the big problems that actors are facing in the strike right now is movie studios that are trying to replace actors with digital likenesses of actors with the help of CGI and AI. The Corridor Crew VFX team wanted to delve deeper into this topic and try to answer the question: Will actors ever really be replaced with CGI?
The answer is yes, but they go on to explain that there will always be human performance driving it. They go on to explain what happens, though, if the performance part becomes superfluous. The video explores the current state of technology and where the use of digital actors is likely to go in the near future.
