“Someone, somewhere, knows the truth.” The classic series hosted by Robert Stack Unsolved mysteries celebrates its 35th anniversary this year. The show originally premiered in 1988 and I watched it all the time! It’s the show that introduced me to the world of true crime and paranormal stories. This show is one of the reasons I’m fascinated by that stuff! Some of those episodes scared the shit out of me when I was a kid!
The Wrap announced it Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy is coming thanks to FilmRise and Alamo Drafthouse. This is a 35th anniversary special that will premiere theatrically on October 4th at Alamo Drafthouse locations nationwide and will also arrive on ad-supported VOD platforms on October 5th.
Unsolved Mysteries: Behind the Legacy “will celebrate the long-running true crime television series through fan-favorite moments and never-before-seen scenes. In the special, co-creators Terry Dunn Meurer AND John Cosgrove Join the actors, producers and directors involved in various seasons of the series as the cast and crew lift the curtain on the making of the show, from audience engagement to tips, research, casting and mystery-solving. Fans attending screenings at the Alamo Drafthouse will be treated to a 90-minute presentation featuring the 60 Minutes television special along with a half-hour compilation of fan-favorite moments, while the streaming program will feature only the 60 Minutes special minutes”.
