Mark Pellington will direct the action thriller MOM from the screenplay by Brent Jordan

Roundtable Entertainment is collaborating with the director Marco Pellington (Arlington Rd, The Prophecies of the Mothman) to bring us the action thriller film Mom, based on a screenplay by Brent Jordan. Casting director Lisa Zagoriabest known for her work on the Best Picture winner TAILis casting this film.

Billed as an “adrenaline-fueled” story, the film follows a single mother as she embarks on a daring cross-country rescue mission, piecing together clues in the search for her teenage daughter who has fallen victim to the horrors of human trafficking.

Roundtable’s Scripted lead, John Baldecchi, said of the project:

“We wanted to make a film that felt like a throwback to a film like Rolling Thunder – something real and gritty and current; We were thrilled that Gabe Torres brought us this heartbreaking story based on true events – and straight out of writer Brent Jordan’s life experience. And Mark is the ideal partner for the material.”

Pellington added:

“MOM is a fast-moving story of protection and revenge. The film explores the true price of violence and the cost of justice when an ordinary mother is pushed to an extraordinary place. This is an intense and forceful dramatic thriller with a commanding lead role that is emotional, relatable and grounded. I’m hungry, humble, and super happy to collaborate with Roundtable on this piece. From Arlington Road to Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy”, I love creating intense dark action with emotional power and brains and I feel like MOM continues in that exciting lineage of my work.

This looks like it could be an intriguing story involving many great creators, so stay tuned for more on that Momwhich will be released in theaters in 2024.
