The first teaser trailer for the writer and director has been released Ava DuVernaythe next historical drama film Origin. The film is based on the book Caste: the origins of our discontentwritten by Isabel Wilkersonand features an all-star cast that includes Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Jon Bernthal, Nash-Betts granddaughter, Vera Farmiga, Audra McDonald, Nick Offerman, Finn Wittrock, Jasmine Cephas-JonesAND Connie Nielsen.
The synopsis of the film reads:
“Origin chronicles the extraordinary life and work of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Isabel Wilkerson as she investigates the genesis of injustice and uncovers a hidden truth that affects us all.”
DuVernay said of the project:
