Liam Neeson is back starring in a new action thriller titled In the land of saints and sinnersbut this time the story is set in Ireland and sees Neeson dealing with a group of terrorists who arrive in a remote coastal town obviously looking for trouble.
Over the past few years, Liam Neeson has made the same type of film over and over again, but this one actually feels like something a little different. Looks like it’s going to tell an interesting story.
The film is set in Ireland in the 1970s. “Eager to put his dark past behind him, Finbar Murphy (Neeson) leads a quiet life in the remote coastal town of Glen Colm Cille, away from the political violence gripping the rest of the country. When a menacing team of terrorists arrives, led by a ruthless woman named Doireann (Kerry Condon), Finbar soon discovers that one of them has been abusing a young local girl. Embroiled in an increasingly vicious game of cat and mouse, Finbar must choose between revealing his secret identity or standing up for his friends and neighbors.
This is Neeson’s second collaboration with the director Roberto Lorenz after the 2019 movie The sharpshooter and it is Kerry Condon’s first major role since her Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination for The Banshees of Inisherin. She’s great at it!
The film is also the protagonist Jack Gleeson, Colm Meaney AND Ciaran Hinds. The film will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival.
