National treasure LeVar Burton will return to television in the upcoming game series Trivial Pursuit, where he will take over as host for The CW’s new show. Burton is best known for hosting a number of shows including Rainbow readingAND $Pyramid of 100,000as well as playing Geordi La Forge in Star Trek: The Next Generationas well as many others Star Trek movies and series. He has lent his voice to many other animated films and shows, as well as acting in tons of projects. She had a long career and was looking to make a permanent gig of her own Danger hosting period, but has now landed on the CW with Trivial Pursuitanother quiz show that looks fun to watch!
He will also executive produce the series, which comes from eOne through its LeVar Burton Entertainment banner. CW insiders have warned that the deal has not yet closed.
It is the latest version of Trivial Pursuit go to screen; Freeform precursor The Family Channel released a series hosted by Wink Martindale in 1993/94 was loosely based on the game, while a syndicated version, Trivial Pursuit: America playsit took place in 2008/09.
The IP is owned by Hasbro, which previously owned eOne before it was bought by Lionsgate.
